You’ve tried all the lifestyle changes, the endless anti-depressants, and treatment options—and you still feel like you can’t break free from depression. You’re not alone. According to the Cleveland Clinic, about 5-17% of people experience Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), and about 30% don’t experience relief from traditional antidepressants.

Often, getting out of that dark place of our mind can be challenging, no matter what route you take. But there is a new depression treatment making headlines for its potential in bringing relief: ONE-D TMS. It is research-backed, effective, and non-invasive. In this blog, we will explain this treatment, why it works when other medications haven’t, and how it differs from other TMS treatments.

A Closer Look at ONE-D TMS

ONE-D TMS (Optimized, Neuroplastogen-Enhanced Depression Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is an accelerated form of TMS therapy that has shown promise in treating depression in just one session.

Traditional TMS therapy typically spans several weeks to months, requiring multiple sessions, extra time for appointments, and costs that can add up quickly. However, ONE-D TMS delivers 20 TMS sessions spread throughout a single day. The goal of ONE-D TMS is to provide quick and effective relief without disrupting the patient’s life.

To make ONE-D TMS more effective, patients are given two medications during the session, including D-cycloserine and Lisdexamfetamine, which help boost neuroplasticity and make the brain more responsive to the treatment.

According to Neurocare, 90% of patients who received ONE-D TMS saw a noticeable improvement in their depression symptoms, and about 70% experienced complete relief from depression. While this treatment is still relatively new, it is showing promising results especially for those who haven’t found relief from other forms of depression treatments.

The Effectiveness of ONE-D TMS

So why does ONE-D TMS work so well when other traditional medications have proven to be less effective? First, let’s understand how the brain works when it comes to your mood. Your brain produces chemicals like serotonin and dopamine that help lift your mood and provide energy.

When those chemicals are off balance, depression and anxiety begin to creep in.

Anti-depressants work by boosting those chemicals and stopping them from being reabsorbed too quickly. However, they often take weeks to take effect, and for many people, they don’t work at all or cause side effects.

TMS therapy, on the other hand, stimulates dormant parts of the brain instead of blocking neurotransmitters. It encourages your brain to produce those happy chemicals naturally and strengthens the connections between them—allowing your brain to rewire itself.
